Registration of Property Ownership Exchange

This service enables individuals and the business sector to register an exchange of real estate or real estate units between owners according to the agreement concluded between them, thus ensuring that the transfer of ownership is documented in a systematic manner.

Required Documents

    Individuals

  • No objection certificate from the developer.

  • • Original title deed / ownership certificate / preliminary registration certificate (if the documents are not updated with the Emirates ID)

    • Business

  • A Valid Passport

Process

  • 1 Log in using UAE PASS through the available channels
  • 2 Submit the application and attach the required documents
  • 3 Pay the fees
  • 4 Receive the title deed, ownership certificate, or preliminary registration certificate through the Digital Identity application or the department's document wallet

Service fees

  • Fees for issuing the title deed / ownership certificate / preliminary registration certificate - AED 350

  • * Property Exchange Registration Fees for UAE Citizens and GCC Nationals: 1% of the valuation of the lower-value property shall be borne by each party, in addition to 2% of the difference in value between the two properties, if any, which shall be borne by the new owner of the higher-value property, with a minimum fee of AED 1,250. - AED 1

  • Property Exchange Registration Fees for Non-GCC Nationals: 2% of the valuation of the lower-value property shall be borne by each party, in addition to 3% of the difference in value between the two properties, if any, which shall be borne by the new owner of the higher-value property, with a minimum fee of AED 1,500. Ownership transfer fees shall also be collected for any additional area resulting from an increase in the exchanged property's area. - AED 2

  • Real Estate Unit Exchange Registration Fees: 1% of the valuation of the lower-value real estate unit shall be borne by each party, in addition to 2% of the difference in value between the two units, if any, which shall be borne by the new owner of the higher-value real estate unit, with a minimum fee of AED 1,250. - AED 2
